Covid-19 Plan

First we hope this finds you and yours in good health.

Our plan is to hold our events when it is deemed safe and appropriate to do so. Our decision to produce an event will be based on information provided by government agencies empowered to communicate when it is safe to gather in public and our ability to obtain permits.

Covid-19 Announcement Date

For each event we will make an announcement of an event postponement, rescheduled date, or cancellation. Our goal is to post information a minimum of five weeks prior to the event date.

Covid-19 Event Credit and Refund Policy

There are no refunds.

Rescheduled Events:

For events that are rescheduled participants will receive an email and they will have the options of:

  • Participate on the rescheduled date
  • Roll registration to the 2021 event
  • Cancel and receive 100% of registration fee credit towards any Big Blue Adventure event in 2020 or 2021

Cancelled Events:

For events that are cancelled participants will receive an email and they will have the options of:
  • Roll entry to the 2021 event
  • Cancel and receive 100% of registration fee credit towards any Big Blue Adventure event in 2020 or 2021

Events as Scheduled:

For events that occur as scheduled participants will receive an email and they will have the options of:
  • Participate on the rescheduled date
  • Cancel and receive 75% of registration fee credit towards any Big Blue Adventure event in 2020 or 2021

No Refund Policy

All entry fees are non-refundable. When you register for an event you agree that there are no refunds.

We offer partial discounts for those canceling during our cancellation periods. A discount code for 75% of your race registration fee will be offered until 14 days prior to the race date. No discounts codes will be given within 14 days before the event.

If an event is sold out we do offer Waitlist registrations. Waitlist registrations DO NOT guarantee an entry for the event and are processed in the order in which they are received. In order to be on the waitlist, full event registration fee payment is required during registration. If the event is filled to capacity and enough participants cancel prior to the event, you will be emailed a confirmation that you have been entered into the event. If your waitlist registration is NOT converted into a race entry (i.e. not enough confirmed entrants cancel prior to the event), you have the option of receiving a refund for 85% of your entry fee or a transferable credit 100% of your entry fee good for any Big Blue Adventure event until 12/31 of the following year.

Registration Changes

Let’s say for example you registered for the 10K or the Sprint Distance Triathlon. Then you find that your training is going well and you’d like to participate in the Half Marathon or the Olympic Distance Triathlon. You can make these changes up to 7 days prior to the event. In most cases this can be done by you on our 3rd party registration platform using your registration confirmation number emailed to you at time of registration.

How to Edit Registration

When you register you receive an email confirmation from our 3rd party registration system. Many events are registered through Imathlete and most trail running events via UltraSignUp. To manage your registration:

For Imathlete, click on this link and place the “Event Confirmation Code” that you received with your registration confirmation email.
