Lake Tahoe is renowned as one of the world’s premier recreational destinations. The region offers an incredible variety of mountain biking trails, adventurous hiking opportunities, and a range of water activities on Lake Tahoe, known as the “Big Blue.” This lake is one of the largest, deepest, and purest alpine lakes on Earth. One popular event in the area is the Tahoe City Swim, which takes place in historic Tahoe City and showcases the lake’s beautiful, clear, and clean waters. Participants can choose from three course distances: 1/2 mile, 1.2 miles, and 2.4 miles, all set up just off Commons Beach, where spectators can enjoy the action firsthand.

The town of Truckee is a great and unique mountain town with many fun and rewarding experiences for you. The Sand Harbor Open Water Swim is part of the Sierra Open Water Swimming Series and takes place at one of Tahoe’s best sandy beaches. Sand Harbor, a highlight of the Nevada State Parks, features 55 acres of sandy shores, rocky coves, shaded forests, and stunning lake views. It provides visitors with exceptional opportunities to experience Lake Tahoe. Sand Harbor is located three miles south of Incline Village on State Route 28.
