Volunteer Positions
Help to make sure participants stay on course! Be positioned at a strategic location(s) on the course. This could be on the bike or run course.
Help our staff with the process of getting all of our participants checked in and registered for the event. A little bit of Admin, handing out race bibs(numbers), T-shirts, SWAG, etc.
Great for a group. Individuals OK too. Work one or more of the Aid/Feed Stations along the course to hand out water, electrolyte replacement beverage, gels, bars, salty snacks, etc. Help to monitor participants and communicate with events staff when medical may be needed. Cheer them on!
Help with the timing process. Collect the timing Chips, record race number and time for redundant data collection, post updated results on the Information board, etc.
Help at the finish area to hang finishing medals around the necks of the finishers, some crowd control, lead participants to the recovery food, monitor recovery food and beverage to keep full, etc.
Help staff to set up and conduct the Awards Ceremony.
Work with our staff to set up, prepare, distribute, and clean up the food and beverage. Depending on the event this could be a BBQ or simply recovery food such as bagels and fruit.
The Transition Area (TA) is a busy venue during our triathlons. Assist athletes in location their spot along the row and bike rack. Monitor the Ins and Outs to make sure the flow is working. Secure the Transition Area to make sure only participants are inside to confirm no gear or bikes leave with the wrong person.
Help our staff and lifeguards out to make sure we have plenty of support on the water during the swim stage of our triathlons. Must be comfortable paddling a kayak or SUP board. Attending a pre-event safety meeting required the same morning of the event.
Help the Big Blue Crew set up and or tear down the venue. Tents, Transition Area, Course Marking, Finish Arch, and on and on.
