Tony Romero

Big Blue Adventure Ambassador

I am just your everyday, 50 year old, Joe! I love adventure and I am forever looking for the next challenge! I graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Plant Science from California State University, Fresno. I am a member of Phi Kappa Phi and the Golden Key International Honour Society. When I am not in search of adventure, I pose as the humble Senior Agricultural Biologist in Nevada County, California. I love my job, because it to takes me to the great outdoors in my own backyard, which includes Truckee and Lake Tahoe’s North Shore!!

I am an avid adventure racer, which has taken me all over the United States to compete. Obstacle course racing is my first love! I’ve competed in countless Spartan races and raced at the World Championships at Lake Tahoe in 2015 and 2016. In 2016, I competed in the Spartan endurance race called the Ultra Beast.I also run Ragnar road and trail races with my team, marathons, 50K trail, Go Ruck and mountain bike. 50 milers, 100k, duathlons and triathlons are in my crosshairs for 2018 and I’m hoping to make my triathlon debut in the XTERRA Tahoe City off-road sprint.
